Nissan is set to launch the facelifted version of its popular sub-4-meter SUV, the Magnite, in October 2024. The company has opened bookings for the updated model, with deliveries scheduled to commence from October 5, 2024, a day after its official launch on October 4.
The 2024 Magnite facelift is expected to feature several design updates. Teasers have revealed new six-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels. Other anticipated changes include a redesigned front grille, updated lighting elements, and revised front and rear bumpers. The overall silhouette of the vehicle is likely to remain largely unchanged.
Inside the cabin, the updated Magnite will sport a black and orange theme with slightly different trim inserts compared to the outgoing model. Dual-tone leatherette upholstery is expected to be offered. A significant addition could be a single-pane sunroof, a feature common among its competitors.
The facelifted Magnite may receive several feature upgrades. These could include a larger touchscreen infotainment system and a bigger digital driver’s display. Other potential additions are automatic climate control, a wireless phone charger, six airbags as standard, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a rearview camera.
Nissan is likely to retain the current powertrain options for the Magnite facelift. These include a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 72 PS and 96 Nm of torque, available with 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT transmissions. The other option is a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine generating 100 PS and up to 160 Nm of torque, paired with either a 5-speed manual or CVT gearbox.
The Magnite has been recognized for its safety features, having received a 4-star Adult safety rating in Global NCAP crash tests conducted in 2022. The current model’s safety kit includes vehicle dynamic control, hill start assist, traction control system, hydraulic brake assist, and an around view monitor. The facelift may introduce additional safety features.
Pricing for the 2024 Nissan Magnite facelift is expected to start from around Rs 6.30 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon launch, it will compete with vehicles such as the Tata Punch, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Exter, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza, and Renault Kiger in the Indian market.
It’s worth noting that the updates introduced in the Magnite facelift are likely to be incorporated into the Renault Kiger facelift as well, given the shared platform between the two models.
